Sound research on isolated acoustic environments

HIDDEN STATES OF MATTER

The multimedia installation or audio-visual concerts/performances are based on electro-acoustic compositions where visual process and sound implementation rises within the ‘site-specific’ acoustic space of the wild natural cave. It brings the audience unique experience of isolated spaces and exploration of the acoustic properties and characteristics of the natural habitat. Authors went down into the darkness of the cave and define the cave acoustics as the primary compositional element and the environment for the emergence of the specific electro-acoustic composition.

Throughout the process of forming unique audio-visual reality, artists made several recordings inside the cave. Recording experiments were made via acoustic potential of various materials found in the cave and also as intervention with the electronic sounds made by audio equipment they brought inside the cave. Please see the relation diagram below for further theory analysis and concept relations.
